秋 雨
像母親的嘮叨
來來回回就那么幾句
像一夜說不完的情話
隔著岸，跟一片荷葉
打情罵俏，把回憶沿著鄉路
一步步誘入泥潭
Autumn rain
It is like Mother's chatter
Back and forth just those few words
And like a night of endless love whispers
Across the river to a lotus leaf
Flirting, seducing memory
Along the country road
Step by step into a mire

登樂游原
櫻花開過
或者還沒盛開
半池渾水
死守著一摞經書
枯葉爬上石徑
尋著幾聲走調的唱詞
我看見大唐的落日
Ascending the Pleasure Plateau
Cherry has bloomed
Or has yet to bloom
Half a pool of turbid water
Is guarding with life a stack of Buddhist canon
Onto the stones crawl several lifeless leaves
Following the lyrics out of tune
I see the sunset of the great Tang dynasty

柿 子
我越來越像一個柿子
全身沒一根骨頭
臉皮比紙還薄
忍氣吞聲
被生活捏來捏去
然后一口吞下
有時連核都不吐
Persimmon
I am more and more like a persimmon
Without a single bone in my body
Face skin thinner than paper
Swallowing insults, eating humble pie
Squeezed by life left and right
And then gobbled in one gulp
Sometimes not even spitting the stones

白 露
寒氣偷襲著黎明
雞鳴叫醒村莊
炊煙慢慢挺起腰桿
頂著一頭霧水
老人繞著村旁的棗園
溜了一圈
走濕了一雙布鞋
White Dew
Cold air suddenly ambushes the dawn
Rooster crow wakens hamlets
Cooking smoke slowly stretches upwards
Capped its head with dew
The old man circles the jujube grove by the village
His cloth shoes soaked

恐高癥
爬到半山腰
心便怦怦地亂跳
返回地面
仿佛人還在空中懸著
禁不住要問
縣太爺、這長那長
咋沒一個恐高的
像壁虎
連安全繩都不系
Fear of Height
Climbing halfway up the hill
Puts my heart into erratic thumps
Back to the ground
I still feel like hanging in the air
I can't help asking
Why so many officials high up there
Are not afraid of height?
Like geckoes
They don't even fasten safety harness

小 人
我見過的小人
小得就像一只跳蚤
有時躲在后背
有時藏在腋下
趁機下口
一輩子跳來跳去
你越搔越癢
渾身紫一塊，青一塊
卻揪不往它的小辮
A Flunky
The flunky I have seen
Is so small like a flea
Sometimes hiding on your back
Sometimes under your armpit
It finds opportunity to attack you
To and fro it jumps all its life
The more you scratch, the itchier you get
All over in black and blue
Yet you can never get the goods on it

黑白照
風景是假的
電子表停在某年某月
你歪著腦袋，一直看著我
一雙眼晴，從沒眨過
仿佛喊一聲，就會走出來
攥緊我的手
Black and White Photos
The scenery is fake
The digital watch stopped at a certain month of a certain year
Your head tilted, staring at me
Your eyes never blink
As if at a call you would come out
To clench my hand

說 鬼
都藏在暗處
有時就在身后跟著
在身體里附著
有時會混進人群
誰也分不清
是人是鬼
心里有鬼的人
一輩子
都被鬼纏著
Ghosts
They are all hidden in the dark
Or sometimes follow behind you
Or lodges in your body
Occasionally mingles themselves with the crowd
No one can tell apart
Humans from ghosts
Those with ghosts in their hearts
Will be haunted
All their lives
